Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State invites the online application forms for admission into second course of degree programme of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil from time to time . Courses of Study Courses leading to Bachelor’s degrees in the following disciplines are available in the Academy: Science: BSc in: Chemistry Computer Sciences Biochemistry Forensic Science Biological Sciences Mathematics Physics Law: LLB Social And Management Sciences: BSc in: Accounting Political Sciences Psychology Sociology Economics Management Sciences Humanities: B.A. in: French English Nigerian Languages & Linguistics History & International Studies Admission Requirements Candidates must be Nigerian citizens and must be between 18 and 22 years of age. The height of applicants must not less than 5 foot 6 inches if male, and 5 foot 4 inches if female. All candidates must be free from any physical or mental disability. Male candidates must have an expanded chest size of not less than 36 inches (91 cm). Candidates must have obtained a minimum of SIX credits at the SSCE conducted by the WAEC, the NECO or the NABTEB and including a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics . The origin of the Nigeria Police Academy was in 1981. The aims and objectives of establishing it are to produce qualitative manpower especially at the ASP and Inspectorate cadre, to meet up with the middle level manpower requirements of the Nigeria Police Force and to equip trainees with competences backed by sound academic background, high professional and moral standards for effective law enforcement and selfless service to the Nation. Admission Requirements The following are the admission requirements: One must be Nigerian citizens and must be between 17 and 22 years of age, and must have a height of not less than 1.67 Metres (5 Feet 6 Inches) if male, and 1.62 Metres (5 Feet 4 Inches) if female. Male candidates must have an expanded chest size of not less than 86cm (34 Inches for those between 21 and 22 years of age). One must be free from any physical deformity or mental disability. One must have obtained a minimum of 6 credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO) or the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) at no more than 2 sittings. One must also have a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics as well as subjects relevant to one’s chosen course of study in the Academy. One must also obtain satisfactory scores in both the written exam and the interview and must pass physical and psychological tests of fitness. SSCE statement of results or certificates relating to exams taken before 2016 will not be accepted. Selection Examination Subjects Selection Examination 1. The name of the examination should continue as SELECTION EXAMINATION. 2. The Examination shall assume the following pattern: Selection A: General paper - compulsory for all candidates (Weighting, 40%) Other sections, (only one section to be answered by candidates based on Faculty of choice (weighting 60%) General Paper and Any of the Following 3 Subjects Selection B: Faculty of Humanities: Government/History Economics Literature in English Selection C: Faculty of Law History/Government IRS/CRS Literature in English Selection D: Faculty of Science: Biology Chemistry Physics Selection E: Faculty of Social and Management Sciences: Government Economics |
