JEE Main is a national level entrance test conducted by CBSE for the admission to engineering and technological courses offered by various government, private and funded institutions including the NITs and IIITs.

Tentative dates-

JEE Main 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent

Applicant must have 5 subjects in qualifying exam out of which Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics should be core subjects.

Applicants those who are appearing can also apply for the examination.

Applicant should be born before 1st October, 1990 are not eligible.

Relaxation in upper age limit is up to 5 for SC/ST and PwD candidates.

Applicants must have passed qualifying exam either in 2013 or 2014.

Applicants can attempt for a maximum of three times.

JEE Main 2016 Paper Pattern

The exam is done in both online and offline mode.

Duration of the exam is 3 hours.

Test consists of 30 questions in each section, total of 90 and it is a multiple choice question.

Each question carries 4 marks

There is a negative marking of 1 mark for wrong answers.
