Re: National institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh

The National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh (NIT Arunachal Pradesh) is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and is recognized as an Institute of National Importance.

It offers the following B. Tech. Branches:

Civil Engineering
Computer Science & Engineering
Electronics & Communication Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Biotechnology

Eligibility

The minimum academic qualification for admission is pass in the qualifying exam (10+2 or its equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English, having secured pass marks based on Criteria defined by JoSAA in each subject.

One must be in good mental and physical health, and should satisfy the standard physical fitness criteria of the Institute (to be examined and certified by the Medical Officer of the Institute).

Admission

The number of seats in each branch of the B Tech programme for which admission is to be made in the NIT Arunachal Pradesh will be decided by the Senate of NIT Arunachal Pradesh.

Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, physically challenged candidates and children of defence personnel who died fighting for the country as per the decision of Joint Admission Board of NITs from time to time.

Admission to all courses will be made in the odd semester of each session, at the first year level, through a Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by CBSE.

No student is allowed to transfer to other NITs.

If, at any time after admission, one is found not fulfilling all the requirements stipulated in the offer of admission, the Dean of Academic Affairs may cancel the admission of one and report the matter to the Senate.

The Institute reserves the right to cancel the admission of any student and ask to discontinue studies at any stage of career on the grounds of unsatisfactory academic performance or on disciplinary grounds.

Procedure for Selection

Admissions to the first semester of all Undergraduate courses are made on the basis of seats allocated by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) from the list of candidates selected by all India JEE (Main).

Besides, a specified number of foreign nationals/NRIs selected under the policy laid down by Govt. of India, are admitted directly to the 1st year of the courses.
