The National Institute of Technology Silchar was awarded the degree of Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Engineering to those who have successfully completed the stipulated Post-graduate Masters Programme.

The Post-graduate Masters Programme with the governing rules and regulations are formulated by the Board of Governors(BOG) of the institute.

A candidate becomes eligible for the award of the M. Tech. degree after fulfilling all the academic requirements prescribed by the Senate of the Institute.

The GATE cutoff for NIT Silchar will be the minimum marks required for admission, that means if a candidate scores less marks than the GATE cutoff, then he or she will not be given admission to the programme and institute.
