hi ! as you are looking for the CSD lateral entry programme of IIIT Hyderabad so so I want to tell you that CSD lateral entry exam have over for this year so better luck next time but for future remembrance I am providing you some essential details :
Lateral Entry after Second Year BE (or) B.Tech in CSE/IT/ECE 2015
Four year Dual Degree Research programmes:
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and MS by Research in CSE (CSD)
B.Tech in Electronics and Communication and Engineering (ECE) and MS by Research in ECE (ECD)

Eligibility Criteria:
For highly motivated and research oriented Student : one should be completing his/her 2nd year of B.E./B.Tech in CSE/IT by the July are eligible to apply for the CSD lateral entry programme.

For highly motivated and research oriented Student should be completing his/her 2nd year of B.E./B.Tech in ECE / ETE / EIE / EEE by this July 2015 are eligible to apply for the ECD lateral entry programme.


Application Fees for this exam is RS 2000


Last Date for application was 8 April 2015 so for next year it may be first week of april 2016

Second week of April 2016( Sunday )
Admission Details :
The written test will be conducted. Candidates will be shortlisted for written test, and then for interview based on written examination performance for final selection. The institute is not obliged to fill up all the seats if it does not find enough quality students.

Syllabus / Content of Exam:
B.E (or) B.Tech [Computer Science] or [Information Technology] Students must take Computer Science exams.
B.E (or) B.Tech [Elctronics and Communications Engineering] Students must take Electronics and Communication Engineering exams.

Exam consists two parts - descriptive and objective. Syllabus is given below.
Electronics and Communications Engineering:
1. Descriptive Exam (90 minutes):
o Digital Logic; Circuit Theory and Networks; Electronic Devices and Circuits.
2. Objective Exam (90 minutes):
o General Aptitude
o Engineering Mathematics
o ECE Subjects: Above topics for descriptive + General Subject Knowledge.

Computer Science:
1. Objective Exam (120 minutes):
o General Aptitude
o Discrete Mathematics
o CS Subjects: Above topics for descriptive + General Subject Knowledge.
2. Descriptive Exam (60 minutes):
o Digital Logic; Computer Organization; Programming; Data Structures.

Curriculum:
Students will take suitably identified courses in their 1st and 2nd semesters. After that they join the regular UG Dual Degree in its 3rd year curriculum courses.
On successful completion of their program these students will get two degrees – B.Tech in ECE/CSE and MS by Research in ECE/CSE

Stipulated Number of Seats:
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and MS by Research in CSE [CSD] : 15 seats
B.Tech in Electronics and Communication and Engineering (ECE) and MS by Research in ECE [ECD] : 15 seats

Tuition Fees:
For first three years these students will pay regular UG tuition fees. The research group/institute will support the student during their last year for doing thesis.
