Mr. K. R. Sarma worked as professor of IIT Kanpur from 1961 to 1988. On March 16, 2007 he get title of Honorary Fellow of IIT Kanpur. He platy key role in technological development in the country. He joined IIT Kanpur in 1961. Education: B.Tech (1957) M.Tech (1958) from IIT Kharagpur Ph.D from Cornell University in the U.S. He was awarded Gold Medal for standing first in the B.Tech program. After 1988 moved to Department of Science and Technology (DST) in Delhi , There he played a key role as an advisor in National Programs in Instrumentation, Laser and Robotics.
