The Karnataka Administrative Services Examination is conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission or recruitment of candidates under Group A & B Officers. Here are the details of this exam: Eligibility: The applicant should hold Graduate/Post Graduate degree in B.A/B.sc/B.com from recognized university with good academic record. Important Dates Last Date for Online Registration: last week of May 2014 KAS Main Exam Expected Date: June 2014 Syllabus: Part - A: Agriculture: Ecology and its relevance to man, natural resources, their management and conservation. Physical and social environments as factors of crop distribution and production, climatic elements as factors of crop growth, impact of changing environment on cropping pattern as indicators of environments, environmental pollution and associated hazards to crops, animals and humans. Cropping patterns in different agro-climatic zones of the country, impact of high yielding and short duration varieties on shifts in cropping patterns, concepts of multiple cropping, multistory, relay and inter-cropping and their importance in relation to food production, Package of practices for production of important cereals, pulses, oilseeds, fibre, sugar and commercial crops, growth during KHARIF and RABI seasons in different regions of the country. Karnataka Administrative Services (KAS) exam is for an effective administration of the Government, it is the policy of the Government to recruit dynamic youngsters in the administration of the State. Karnataka Public Service Commission Karnataka Administrative Services exam details are as given below: Tentative dates Last Date for Online Registration: last week of May 2015 KAS Main Exam Expected Date: June 2015 Eligibility; Qualification The applicant should have a bachelors degree from any recognized University. Age Limitation Age must be of between 18-35 years. Selection Procedure Selections will be complete on the basis of written exam & interview. Scheme of Examination The competitive examination comprises of; Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) for the Selection of candidates to the main examination ; and Main Examination (Written Examination) for selection of candidates to the personality test. Personality test: For final selection of candidates to various posts/ caders Prelim syllabus PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION (Objective type): PAPER-1 (I) Current events of National and International importance. (II) Humanities – History of India Emphasis shall be on broad general understanding of the subject in its social, economic, culture and political aspects with a focus on Indian national movement with special emphasis on Karnataka. (III) World Geography and Geography of India with a focus on Karnataka. (IV) Indian Polity and economy, including the country s political system, rural development, planning and economic reforms in India-sustainable development, poverty alleviation, demographics, social sector initiatives etc. PAPER-2 (I) Current events of State importance and important State Govt. programmers. (II) General Science and Technology, Environment and Ecology contemporary developments in science and technology, and their implications including matters of everyday observations and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline, general issues on Health, environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate change- that do not require subject specialization. (III) General Mental Ability Comprehension, Logical reasoning and Analytical ability, Decision making, problem solving, Basic innumeracy (numbers and their relations, order of magnitude etc.) and data interpretation (charts. Graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.,) (class X/SSLC level). |
