The IIT Kanpur has a various facilities through Kanpur Genetic Algorithms Laboratory.

The Kanpur Genetic Algorithms Laboratory is a research laboratory at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur dedicated to pursuing research and industrial collaboration in the areas of genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic controllers, bioinformatics and neural networks.

The Fundamental research and application to engineering problems are primary focus of KanGAL.

Desktops and Workstations
There are about a dozen desktops with the configuration in the range: P4 (2.4 - 3.2) GHz, 512 MB - 1GB DDR2 RAM, 80 GB 7200.7 RPM SATA HD, 17-19 inch CRT Monitor (running Mandriva Linux).

A Central File Server with 160x3 = 480 GB data storage space (running Mandriva Linux).

Few old machines that work as routers, NIS servers (running FreeBSD) and test boxes.

Two PCs (P4 3.0 GHZ, 1GB RAM, 800MHz FSB) running WindowsXP.
