One can join the Air Force as an Officer in either one of the three branches, the Flying, Technical or the Ground branch. Indian Air Force invites application from men to join the Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officers in Flying, Technical and Ground Duty branches IAF Vacancy Details Flying Branch: a) No 198/15F/SSC/M (Short Service Commission) Technical Branch: a) No 197/15T/PC/M (Permanent Commission) b) No 197/15T/SSC/M (Short Service Commission) Ground Duty Branch: a) No 197/15G/PC/M (Permanent Commission) b) No 197/15G/SSC/M (Short Service Commission) Important Dates Starting date for Submission of Online Applications: 07th June 2014 Last date for Submission of Online Application: 03rd July 2014 Date of AFCAT and EKT Exam: 31st August 2014 Date of Course Commencing: July 2015 Eligibility Criteria Flying Branch (198 15/SSC/M) Age: Age must be in between 19 to 23 years Upper age limit is relaxable upto 25 years for candidates who holds valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (Indian) Educational Qualifications: -Must be Graduates (minimum 3 years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together -Must have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level or B.E./B.Tech degree (4 year course) from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together Technical Branch (197/15T/ SSC/M Courses) Age: Age must be in between 18 to 28 years Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) AE (L): Must have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognized university or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate membership examination of the institute of electronics and telecommunication engineers by actual studies Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) AE (M): Must have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognized university or cleared Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies Ground Duty Branch (197/15G/PCM and 197/15G/SSC/M Courses) Age Limit: For Graduate: Age must be in between 20 to 23 years For Post Graduate/LLB (Five years integrated course): Age must be in between 20 to 25 years (age limit) For LLB (Three years course after Graduation): Age must be in between 20 to 26 years (age limit); Education: Administration and Logistics: Must have Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or a Pass Graduate Degree / equivalent Diploma in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers Accounts: Must have passed B.Com degree course with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (M.Com) / CA/ICWA with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together Education: Must Possess post Graduate Degree in any discipline with not less than 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together |
