IPS which is an All India Service is counted among the top three civil services in India.

Eligibility:
You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age.

You must possess a graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions.

The Indian Police Service is primarily concerned with maintenance of Law and Order in the country.

IPS exam conducted by UPSC.

CSE consists of three phases
1) CSAT
2) Civil Services Mains
3) IPS Interview.

Civil Services (Preliminary) EXAM 2015:-

Date of commencement of Examination:- 23.08.2015 (Sunday)

Duration of the Exam:- 1 DAY

Civil Services (Main) Exam 2015:-

Date of commencement of Examination:- 18.12.2015 (FRIDAY)

Duration of the Exam:- 5 DAYS

Educational Qualification:
>> Candidates have a bachelor of degree in any stream from any recognized university,
>> Final year students also eligible for this examination
>> There is no percentage required for this examination

Paper I Objective Type - 2 hours duration - 200 Marks

Paper II Objective Type - 2 hours duration - 200 Marks

Indian Police Services Officer is one who has to be at one of the most coveted position in civil administration of the Indian Democratic setup.

Eligibility
Applicants must possess a degree from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants in the final year of a degree course can also appear in the Preliminary Examination taken every year by UPSC.

Applicants must have attained the age of 21 years on 1st August of the year of examination and must not have attained 30 years of age on that date.

The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC Applicants and 5 years for SC/ST Applicants

The upper age limit is also relaxed in favour of Defense Services Personnel.

Last date for receipt of applications:- 12.06.2015 (Friday)

The entrance examination for IPS (Indian Police Service) is conducted by Government of India for the recruitment candidates for the different posts in Indian Civil Services.

The exam of IPS is the toughest one after IAS and it is also conducted by UPSC.

IPS exam eligibility-

Degree of any discipline from a recognized university.
The candidates who are in the final year of their degree course can also apply for the examination.

Age Limit

Applicant’s age limit should be in between 21 to 30 years.

Physical qualification -

Height: The male candidate should be 165cm and female candidate should be 150cm for general category candidates. In the case of candidates coming under SC/ST/OBC the height required is 160cm for male and 145cm for female.

Chest: Minimum requirement in the case of male candidates is 84cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm. In the case of female candidates the minimum requirement is 79cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm.

Eye sight: 6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. Near vision for worse eye is J2 and for good eye is J1.

The physical standards are essential for IPS, which includes weekly run for 10kms in 60 minutes, rope climbing, horse riding, PT obstacles, etc

The paper pattern of English Section consists of Comprehension of given passages, Precis Writing, Usage and Vocabulary, Paragraphs writing etc.

Essay

Paper Type: Descriptive
Duration: 3 Hours
Marks: 200

In this section, aspirants are required to write at least 2 essays on which first topic is related to Indian Society/politics/ Economy/Development, Growth and related aspects and second topic related to security and related matters.
