The Indian Maritime University came into being through an Act of Parliament (Act 22) on 14th November 2008 as a Central University and is poised to play a key role in the development of trained human resource for the maritime sector. 14th November is celebrated as 'IMU Day' every year.

Admission Details :

Educational Qualifications
A Diploma in Ship Building Engineering from Institute of Ship Building Technology (ISBT), Goa with at least 60% marks overall and should have completed the diploma within the stipulated period 4 years Or

A Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering / Marine Engineering from any institute approved by AICTE with at least 60% marks overall and should have completed the diploma within the stipulated period of 3 years

Age Limit:
Minimum age 18 years
Maximum age 26 years
