Applicants who have done B.tech from IIT can get direct admission in M.tech program and there is no need to take part in GATE exam. Applicants have to qualify the GATE exam in order to take admission in M.TECH Courses at IIT’s . GATE stands for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted on all India basis jointly by: Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT’s) and Indian Institute of Science (IIS) Eligibility Aspirants must have Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. Aspirants having Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and Aspirants who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. Aspirants in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/ Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/ Technology. Aspirants should fulfill the minimum age requirements as prescribed.
