MBA Programme:

Eligibility criteria

Regular Candidates
The Regular candidates should possess a valid CAT score to be eligible for the admission process.
Their selection will be based on their CAT score and their performance in group task and personal interview.

IIT Graduates who obtain a CGPA of 8 and above on 10 are exempted from CAT score.

The final admission to the IIT degree holders would be based on their performance in the Group Task and Personal Interview, as in the case of other degree holders.

Sponsored Candidates
This category is of 2 types:
a) Company Sponsored Candidates
b) Indian Defence personnel

They must have a minimum work experience of 2 years in the organization and a valid, good score in national level entrance tests such as CAT/XAT/MAT.

Defence personnel are exempted from the national level entrance test.

Non-Resident Indian and Foreign Nationals
Selection shall be on the basis of:
• GMAT score
• Academic record
• Letters of reference and
• Work experience

The applicant should have graduates in any discipline with first class or 60% marks earned in their degree from a recognized /reputed University for all categories of admission: regular candidates, sponsored candidates, NRI candidates and Foreign nationals.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Regular Candidates

Candidates must have a Valid Score in the Common Admissions Test Conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management.

IIT Graduates who obtain a CGPA of 8 and above on 10 are exempted from CAT score.

For Sponsored Candidates

This category is of two types:
a) Company Sponsored Candidates
b) Indian Defense Personnel

(A) They must have a minimum work experience of two years in the sponsoring organization and a valid, good score in national level entrance tests such as CAT/XAT/MAT.

Candidates should forward their application through proper channel.

(B) Defense personnel are exempted from the national level entrance test. Candidates who are working with the Defense forces are encouraged to apply through respective government agencies.

Non-Resident Indian and Foreign Nationals :

Short listing for this category shall be on the basis of
GMAT score
Past academic performance
Letters of reference and
Work experience, if any

They also have to submit copies of their citizenship-related documents obtained from the Indian Embassy of their residing country while applying for the programme.

Academic Qualifications :

Candidates must have Graduation Degree in any Discipline with first class or 60% marks from a recognized/reputed University for: regular candidates, sponsored candidates, NRI candidates and foreign nationals.


Selection Procedure :

Candidates from all Categories Short Listed Based on the Composite Score shall be called for a personal interview to a given location

The final selection for all categories except NRIs and Foreign Nationals will be based on Performance in group task, written communication and personal interview , Composite score .

For short listed NRIs and Foreign Nationals, the final selection will be based on a personal interview which shall be conducted online.

Application Fees

For Indian Students :

General/OBC – Rs.1600/-
SC / ST / PD Category Candidates – Rs.800/-

For Foreign & NRI Students :

The fee for Foreign and NRI candidates is US $100.

They should pay the application fee by way of demand draft or bankers cheque drawn in favour of “The Registrar, IIT Madras” and payable at Chennai. Draft from any bank is acceptable.
