The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad was established in the year 2008. It is located at Hyderabad, Telangana, India . (Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad new campus )  Construction in progress at Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad campus in Kandi village mandal at Sangareddy in Medak. This will be a smart campus with things such as cooling system, own power generation and water harvesting. The campus has plans to establish 5 MW solar power plant to meet its own demand and addition planning for surplus generation to the grid. A committee was constituted by U.B. Desai, Director, IITH, for the smooth shifting of the institute to new campus.
