Large part of the campus is covered by the residential area for faculty, staff and students.

There is separate accommodation available for married students. Guests can stay in Staff Hostel as well as in the Guest House.

Located near the STD / PCO booth in the Main Building, this coffee shack serves Maggie noodles, soup, chocolates, hot and cold coffee, and tea.

DESCAFE
This small but sufficient tea - stall is located on the first floor of the PD Cell, in the Industrial Design Centre.
It is ideal place to have wada - pav.

CHINESE CORNER
More famous as Chinkos, it is housed on the first floor of the NCC building near the SAC.
It is open from 4:00 p. m. - 4:00 a. m., and serves both, the Chinese and the South Indian food.

STAFF CANTEEN
Open during the office hours, it is near the Security Office in the Main Building. Lunch is decent enough, provided you don't eat it daily.

JUDA MEX
A fast food corner serving samosas and tea too, it is located in the IIT market, inside the campus, near the Y - Point.

HARISH
Located at the Y - Point, this is a pure vegetarian hotel, ideal for your pocket too. Fresh Idli Sambhar served early in the morning at 6:00 a.m.

A neat and clean place for booze, vegetarian and non - vegetarian food
The prices are on the higher side, but the service is efficient.
This place is located right in front of the middle gate.

SUJATA PALACE
Located at the middle gate, this place is more fondly known as S. P.
It serves decent vegetarian and non - vegetarian food, and booze too.
The rates are nominal. This place serves good paranthas.

KUSHA
The craving for good Chinese food, this joint is located at the Y - Point.

SUNNY
The latest joint to come up in the area, it is located near the Apna Bazaar, at the middle gate. It serves both vegetarian and non - vegetarian food, and booze.

PLAZA
It is located between the Y - Point and the middle gate. It serves both vegetarian and non - vegetarian food and gives a discount of 15% to the IITians.

MADDU MESS
A small room on the road to Classic, between the Y - Point and Middle Gate
Open from 5:30 a. m. - 11:00 p. m.
It serves vegetarian and non - vegetarian grub.

MALLU MESS
Serving extremely cheap and reasonably hygienic, vegetarian and non - vegetarian food, it is located outside the Main Gate, down the road from Vishwa.
