Re: IES Exam plan
Government of India recruits its coveted Engineers through competitive exams held each year by Union Public Service Commission. For this, a combined competitive examination is conducted by the UPSC. There are 2 parts of Indian Engineering Services written exam, Objective Papers of 600 marks and Conventional Papers of 400 marks ie total 1000 marks. Beside it there is personality test of 200 marks. IES exam total carries 1200 marks. Objective Papers consist of three papers each carrying 200 marks of two hour duration. Here first paper is of General Ability Test divided in two parts-General English and General Studies and last two papers are from your chosen Engineering subjects. Part two of exam is consist of two Conventional Papers of each 200 marks are from Engineering subjects Be cool,Take it Slow & Concentrate on your studies now:understand every lesson from basics and strive to get good grades. Understanding all(most) of the engineering is the key. Have a look at the syllabus of your branch and concentrate more on those areas. Develop communication skills both verbal & Writing: This cuts down your time in getting selected, for these services the toppers and selected candidates are those with good communication skills. Get the standard books & Don't cram the subject or topics ever. Practice with the previous year papers Study General Studies from NCERT books & your school level english books: Never waste much time on news paper thinking it will boost your GK. i.e. read selectively. Prepare seriously. Attempt once, twice....until you get the selection. A decent preparation shall guarantee you selection with in 2 attempts. Take Mock Tests in preparation time. |
