As you want to know about the IAS Exam Age Criteria so here I am providing you the same.

Age limit
21 to 30
The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of the SC/ST and other backward classes

Eligilbity
Applicant should be at least a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.

Nationality
A citizen of India
A subject of Nepal
A subject of Bhutan
A Tibetan refugee

Exam Pattern
Preliminary Exam taken by nearly 2, 50,000-3, 00,000 candidates every year
Mains exam taken nearly 10,000 selected candidates at preliminary level
Interview, the last part of the exam is taken by number of candidates nearly three times of the vacant seats.

Syllabus
Paper 1 (200 marks)

Current events of national and international importance
History of India and Indian national movement
Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the worldIndian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization General science.

Paper 2 (200 marks)
Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
English language comprehension skills (Class X level)

Sorry to say that being 35 years old , you are not eligible for the Indian Administrative Service exam .

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants should be at least a Graduate in any discipline from a recognised university.

Applicants who have passed the final year of MBBS but yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main ExaminationApplicants must be a citizen of India .

Applicants must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August

Number of attempts:
General category 4
Other backward classes 7
SC/ST applicants Unlimited
Physically handicapped belonging to general category 7

Indian Administrative Services Exam IAS exam is conducted by central body Union Public Service Commission every year in the month of May to selected candidates for Central Government and its various departments.

IAS Exam Eligibility


Age Limits:


Candidate’s age must be between 21 years to 30 years.

The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of the SC/ST and other backward classes.

Educational qualification-

Graduate in any discipline from a recognised university.

Candidates having professional and technical qualifications recognised by the government are also eligible.

Final year student of graduation can also apply.

Candidates who have passed the final year of MBBS or any Medical degree Examination but are yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main Examination.

Nationality:

For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India
For other services, a candidate must be either:

A citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India with the intention of permanently settling in India. or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

IAS Syllabus

Preliminary Examination (CSP)

Paper I – (200 marks) Duration: Two hours

• Current events of national and international importance

• History of India and Indian National Movement

• Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System,

Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.

• Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development,

• General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate

Change – that do not require subject specialization

• General Science.

• Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level

(last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from

English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.

• The questions will be of multiple choice, objective type.

Main Examination
Main examination has two optional subjects (two papers each carries 300 marks), one General Studies (two papers each carries 300 marks), one essay (carries 200 marks) – total 2000 marks.
