Administrative Branch:

As an officer in the Administration Department, candidate will be responsible for the efficient management of both human and material resources. Some of the officers of the Administration Branch are selected to carry out the following duties also:

Air Traffic Controller:

Air Traffic Controller officer's core responsibilities will involve maintaining an orderly flow of traffic, airspace management and to provide control and advisory services in order to enable the pilots of military and civil aircrafts to conduct their flights with total safety in all weather conditions.

Fighter Controller:

Fighter Controller will be posted to an Air Defence radar unit and will be responsible for close contact and supervision between the air and radar for effective airspace management. As an important part of front line organization of air defence systems, the Administrative Branch Officer may be required to operate as a Fighter Controller to counter enemy threats from the air by using modem electronic counter-offensive equipment.

To join the Administration Branches, candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

20 to 23 years of age for graduates, 20 to 25 years of age for Post Graduates / LLB (Five year integrated course) and 20 to 26 Years for Law Graduates (3 Years Course after Graduation). Logistics Branch:

Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is a written exam conducted by IAF (Indian Air Force) twice every year to induct ground duty branches officers in the IAF.


General Eligibility Criteria for Ground Duty Branches

Age –
20 to 23 Years for Graduates and 20 to 25 years for Post Graduates (at the time of commencement of course).
Upper age limit is relaxed up to 26 years for Law Graduates (3 Years Course), upto 27 years for CA / ICWA / M Ed / Ph D.

Marital Status –
Candidates below the age of 25 years must be Unmarried.

Permanent Commission (for Men) / Short Service Commission (for Men & Women)
One is responsible for the efficient management of both human and material resources.
Some of the officers of the Administration Branch are selected and trained to carry out the following duties also:

Fighter Controller – Involves close contact and supervision between the air and radar for effective airspace management.

One will also act as internal auditor to ensure a zero-defect audit from outside agencies.

One would ensure efficient supervision of inventories, and involve in procurement processes of various ranges of equipment.

Post-Graduation Degree/ equivalent diploma in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.
