Hey buddy the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is a public institution established by the Government of India, located in Guwahati, in the state of Assam in India.

It is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology established in India.

Admission

Admissions to the PhD programme are normally held twice a year, during May/June and December.

Academic streams of the department advertise for new admissions subject to the positions available.

Students from science, arts or commerce backgrounds with a minimum 55% marks (or equivalent) at the Masters level in a relevant discipline are eligible to apply.

Regular full time candidate receives financial assistantship from the institute if he/she has qualified the NET or GATE

A student in this category is sponsored by a recognized R&D organization, academic
institution, government organization basis.

Self-Financed

Institute does not provide any assistantship/fellowship to such a student.
