The department of applied chemistry has contributed essentially to advanced education and examination in the range of Applied Chemistry, Polymer Science and Chemical Technology. This division is the guardian bureau of Textile Engineering and Chemical Engineering offices which have been enbloc to IIT Delhi in 1960s.

The office has thirteen general employees and two educators on contract. Also a decent number of master going by resources convey addresses to B.Tech and M.Tech understudies on hourly premise as and when required.

The office has 15 entrenched labs on Applied Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Synthesis, Polymer Testing and Characterization, Polymer Processing, Chemical Technology, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Textile Technology, PG lab, CAD Lab, Research Labs, and so forth alongside the departmental library. B.Tech and M Tech understudies do their minor/significant activities in these research facilities together with specialists from industry, R&D association and educators of the division. The office has attempted supported activities financed by AICTE, CSIR, UGC, DRDO, DST, BARC and so on. The office has created more than 50 Doctorates, 350 postgraduate and 450 graduate understudies.

The office arranges Curriculum Development workshops /Conferences /Symposium /FDP programs time to time to adapt up to the most recent improvement in the aforementioned territories. The office conducts yearly specialized celebration TATVA in which the understudies and specialists from industry take an interest in scholastic considerations to upgrade Industry-Institute connections. Such valuable cooperations help the understudies for modern trainings and employment arrangements.
