Society for Integrated Circuit Technology and Applied Research (SITAR) is a Government of India Organization enrolled under Societies Registration Act, 1860 with its enlisted office at New Dehli.

SITAR has two units. SITAR, Bangalore built up in 2003. The SITAR, Bangalore unit has been renamed as Semiconductor Technology and Applied Research Center (STARC) and has CMOS ASIC and MEMS manufacture offices and a Thick film line and IC Assembly offices. The ASIC Fab has 1µ computerized CMOS, DLM and MIL qualified process innovation for Processing 150 mm wafers. The MEMS Fabrication Facility has a procedure capacity of making 1µ include measure, profound trenches past 100 Microns profundity with straight vertical dividers and handling 150 mm wafers.

The other unit-Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Center (GAETEC), Hyderabad is set up and converged with SITAR in April 2004

STARC (A unit of SITAR), Bangalore has two Fabrication offices called CMOS and MEMS. The CMOS Fabrication office is a MIL qualified,1 Micron prepare innovation on 6 inch wafer with Double Layer Metal (DLM) and advanced standard cell configuration based foundry. The unit has a thick film line and IC get together, which bolsters the FAB to a restricted degree. Computerized ASIC's, Discrete gadgets for specialty applications, Read Out ICs (ROICs) for MEMS sensors and Drive hardware for Micro actuators are created in CMOS FAB
