The Indian Ballistic Missile Defence Program is an activity to create and send a multi-layered ballistic rocket guard framework to shield from ballistic rocket assaults.

Presented in light of the ballistic rocket danger from Pakistan and China, The Indian Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is building up a two-level Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) framework that comprises of two interceptor rockets, to be specific the Prithvi Air Defence (PAD) rocket for high height interference, and the Advanced Air Defence (AAD) Missile for lower elevation block attempt.

DRDO PAD/AAD Ballistic Missile Defence System Development stage

India started the advancement of the ballistic rocket barrier framework in 1998. The advancement was arranged in two stages. The main stage was trying because of the mind boggling innovations and indigenous mission frameworks utilized in the mission. It is 10 m tall and weighs around 5.2 tons and has distance across of 1m.

Following eight years of improvement, the primary rocket test was directed in November 2006. The Prithvi-II rocket was effectively captured by the PAD in the endo-air at a height of 48km.In December 2007, AAD rocket let go from Wheeler Island caught a reproduced electronic rocket at an elevation of 15km over the Bay of Bengal. The third test was effectively directed in March 2009.

The fourth test arranged in March 2010 was ended because of specialized issues. DRDO test terminated the AAD rocket from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Wheeler Island in July 2010.

DRDO arrangements to create two new ballistic rockets, in particular AD-1 and AD-2, in stage 2 of the rocket shield advancement. The AD-1 and AD-2 interceptors can connect with middle of the road range ballistic rockets (IRBMs)/intercontinental ballistic rockets (ICBMs).
