DAAD IIT Madras

I heard that Deutscher Akademischer Austausch offers the scholarships to IIT Madras. I am doing the PG Course from IIT Madras. Am I eligible to get the scholarships? Tell me about the eligibility criteria of DAAD so I can apply for it?

IIT Madras student exchange program permits students to visit Institutions in Germany, Switzerland and a few other countries.

Students from participating Universities will visit IIT Madras for specific course work or projects.

The DAAD offers upto 100 "Sandwich-Model" scholarships to post-graduate students registered for a Masters degree at the Indian Institute of Technology.

Candidates must be enrolled in the M.Tech programme, or in exceptional cases, highly recommended candidates in the M.S (Research) programme.

They must be registered for course work at an IIT according to the regulations of that IIT.

Eligibility Requirements:

Degree / Status:
Candidates must be Indian residents, and be M.Tech or M.S (Research) students (with CGPA no less than 8.0) currently enrolled in a Masters course at an Indian Institute of Technology.

Knowledge of German language:
Candidates must have Standard of "Grundstufe I", upon commencement of scholarship. Compulsory language course will be arranged at the IITs prior to departure.

Age Limit:
32 yrs upon commencement of scholarship.

Duration:
A 4 - 6 week language course in Germany
8 months research work for the Masters thesis carried out at a German university
