CUSAT M Tech Entrance

Hello, I am looking for the details that which entrance exam must be fought for the admission in the M Tech Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Thermal Engineering course in CUSAT. So can you please provide me the details regarding this including the contact details of the university so that it may be helpful for me??

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a government-owned autonomous science and technology university which is located in the city of Cochin, Kerala, India.

It was established in 1971.

You are looking for the details that which entrance exam must be fought for the admission in the M Tech Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Thermal Engineering course in CUSAT. So I am providing it to you so that it may be helpful for you:

You will have to fight the CAT exam for admission.

Eligibility:
The candidate must have passed B.Tech / B.E / B.Sc. Enginering Degre Examination in Mechanical branch from any University in Kerala with a minimum of 60% marks.

Duration of course:

2 yrs. (4 sem)

Important Dates:

BTech & Five Year LLB Entrance 02nd May, 2015 ( Saturday )
MSc. Courses & M.C.A. & 3 Yeat LLB 03rd May, 2015 ( Sunday )
Lateral Entry Test to B.Tech 10th May, 2015 ( Sunday )

Exam Pattern:

The CUSAT CAT 2014 question paper will be based on the Plus Two syllabus
Duration of test: 3 hours
Total no of Questions: 250 objective type
Mathematics: 125 questions
Physics & Chemistry: 125 questions in the ratio 3:2

Marking Scheme:

Negative marks will be given for each wrong answer.

Established in 1971 and named as University of Cochin, CUSAT (Cochin University of Science and Technology) was the symbol of commitment from the Government of Kerala towards the new scientific policy resolution adopted by the Central Government on 4th March 1958.

Its mission is to prosecute and promote research in applied science, technology, industry, commerce, management and social science for the advancement of knowledge and for the betterment of society.

M. Tech Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Thermal Engineering


Eligibility Criteria for Admission

A. One must have passed B.Tech/B.E/ B.Sc Engineering Degree Examination in Mechanical branch from any University in Kerala or an examination of any other University /institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 60% marks.

B. One who has passed sections A and B exams conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India) – AMIE in Mechanical branch shall be eligible

C. A valid GATE score in Mechanical Engineering.

D .In the absence of GATE qualified candidates, non GATE candidates will be considered on the basis of Department Admission Test (DAT)


Admission Process

Rank lists for M. Tech. programmes are prepared on the basis of the valid GATE Score. When the GATE Scores of two or more candidates are equal, the marks scored at the qualifying exam are considered as the tie-breaker.

Seats set apart for candidates from different disciplines in interdisciplinary M. Tech. programmes will be allotted on the basis of their GATE Scores in the respective disciplines.

Candidates without GATE Score will be considered only if sufficient numbers of applicants with valid GATE Score are not available. Such candidates and sponsored candidates will have to appear for a Department Admission Test (DAT) conducted in the Department/ School concerned.
