At SMU Cox, they want to make that experience accessible and affordable. Through generous support of their corporate and private donations and endowments, they are able to offer competitive scholarship packages to approximately 65 percent of their student body each year. In 2016, the average scholarship award was $46,000. Cox Full-Time (Two-Year) MBA Scholarships Merit Scholarships- Merit scholarships are awarded each year based on individual merit and achievement. Recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated academic achievement, performance on the GMAT, professional experience, and leadership potential. Scholarships are awarded for the entire two-year period, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Candidates are evaluated and awarded during the admission process. To be eligible, candidates must submit their application, including all pieces (transcripts, GMAT, TOEFL, essays, etc.), by the deadline. Cox Distinguished MBA Scholars The Cox Distinguished MBA Scholars Program awards up to eight (8) full-tuition scholarships per year to the most outstanding students admitted to the Cox Full-Time MBA program. Forte Fellowship The Cox School of Business is proud to partner with Forte Foundation to continue to increase the number of women pursuing graduate business education. They offer a variety of merit-based scholarship awards to admitted female students which qualify them to be named as Forte Fellows and become part of an exclusive group of top future female business leaders. All female candidates are automatically considered for Forte Fellows. Diversity Scholars They offer scholarships to diverse candidates (with high preference to Native Americans, African Americans, and Hispanic Americans, who are underrepresented in management positions) to increase the number of minorities in the business landscape. All diverse candidates are automatically considered for the Diversity Scholars program. Military Scholarships The Cox School of Business firmly believes that the leadership and teamwork values taught to members of the military are valuable assets that veterans bring to their classmates. For those with Yellow Ribbon eligibility, they are often able to offer scholarships that cover the gap between Yellow Ribbon and the total cost of tuition. ITOM Scholars Students with professional experience in operations, information technology, or business analytics who plan to pursue a concentration in one of these areas in the Cox MBA program may apply for the ITOM (Information Technology and Operations Management) Scholars program. Selected scholars will receive a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500 per semester) during their MBA studies. Marketing Scholars Students with professional experience in marketing or advertising who plan to pursue a concentration in Marketing in the Cox MBA program may apply for the Marketing Scholars program. Selected scholars will receive a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500 per semester) during their MBA studies. Indian Scholars They offer a variety of merit-based scholarship awards to support our admitted students which qualify them to be named as Indian Scholars and become part of an exclusive group of top future business leaders. All candidates from India are automatically considered for the Indian Scholars program.
