Union Public Service Commision (UPSC) Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) exam details are as given below:

Eligibility Criteria

Age limit:
Candidate must be at least 20 years old and at most 24 years as on the date of interview.

Age Relaxation
5 years age relaxation for SC, ST candidates.
3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates.
5 years age relaxation for civilian central Government employees as per the existing instructions of the Central Government. Former army-men will be eligible for this relaxation as well.
5 years age relaxation if a candidate has been originally domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir

Educational Qualification:
The Candidate must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from a state or central recognized university OR any other educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared as a deemed university under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 OR possess an equivalent qualification.

Selection Process

Selection process consists of 3 stages:
Written examination
Physical Efficiency Tests (PET) & Medical Standards Tests
Interview

Written Examination

There will be two papers in the exam.
Paper 1 will be of General Ability and Intelligence and
Paper II will be of General Studies, Essay and Comprehension

Physical Standards
For Men
Height: 165 cm
Chest: 81 cm (86 cm expanded)
Weight: 50 kg

For Women
Height: 157 cm
Chest: Not applicable
Weight: 46 kg

The eligibility requirements for Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) Central Police Forces (CPF) (Assistant Commandants) Examination are as follows:


One must be a citizen of India.


Both males & female candidates are eligible for appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants in CRPF, CISF, SSB and BSF.


One must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years.

Age Relaxation
i. upto a maximum of 5 years for SC, ST candidates.
ii. upto a maximum of 3 years for OBC candidates.
iii. upto a maximum of 5 years for civilian central Government servants in according with the existing instructions of the Central Government. Ex-service men will also be eligible for this relaxation.
iv. upto a maximum of 5 years if a candidate had ordinally been domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 01-01-1980 to the 31-12-1989.


One must have Bachelor Degree from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.


One appearing in the degree exam is allowed to appear this exam but have to submit proof of passing along with the detailed application forms which are to be submitted after the qualification the written test, medical standards test and physically test.


One who has been selected on the basis of an earlier exam in any of the forces participating in the Central Armed Police Forces will not be eligible to appear at a subsequent examination for recruitment of Assistant Commandants in the participating CAPFs.

One must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards for admission.
