Convocation Award
University of Calcutta, first time in its history awarded Special Medal for outstanding acheivements of NSS functionaries of this University under the category of Best Voluteer and Best Programme.

National Awards, Indira Gandhi NSS Award
University of Calcutta received Indira Gandhi NSS Award of Appreciation as one of the best five Universities of the Country for its activities.

The award was presented by the Hon’ble President of India, Sri Pranab Mukherjee at the Rastrapati Bhavan on 19th November 2012 to Prof. Suranjan Das, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Calcutta and Prof. Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhaya, Programme Co-ordinator and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs
