The Ph D Regulation 2010 of Burdwan University is as follows:

Regulations relating to Admission to Ph.D. Programme

One holding the Master Degree of University of Burdwan and / or Master Degree or other degree of any Statutory University / Institute in India or abroad recognized as equivalent to the Master Degrees of University of Burdwan may apply to the Secretary of the Faculty Council for Postgraduate Studies concerned in the prescribed form for admission to Ph.D. Programme in any of the subjects in which the Doctoral Degree may have been instituted, provided that one has been declared to have passed the qualifying exam in that subject or in an allied subject recognized as such by the Faculty Council for Post-graduate Studies concerned.

The reservation policy of the State shall be taken into concern while admitting students in the Ph.D. Programme.

Before admission process the University will notify the number of candidates to be admitted to the Ph.D. Programme subject-wise through its website and advertisement in leading newspapers.

Every application in response to the notification for admission to Ph.D. Programme contains a full statement of the qualifications of the candidate with the relevant supporting documents.
