Has Bharathiar University again conduct the Space Festival which it conducted in collaboration with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 2012? Give me the details of that Festival of Bharathiar University and NASA?

The NASA- Bharathiar University to organise 'Space Festival 2012' event was inaugurated by the former President, APJ Abdul Kalam. The festival was jointly organised by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organization (IIA and IIG) ISRO Terming the event a first of its kind in India, Vice-Chancellor of the university C. Swaminathan told that it was expected to attract more than 60,000 visitors from all over the State and the neighbouring States of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Karnataka. The main focus was on Government school children from standards IX to XII to get them motivated towards science. It was also open to students from private schools, colleges, and the general public. Various events were planned to engage the visitors for all days. A delegation from NASA including Dr N. Gopalswamy NASA/GSFC (head of delegation) Dr J. M. Davila, Dr Madhulika Guhathakurta, Paulo Younse, D. Scherrer (Stnafoed University), Martha Wawro, Jaya Bajpayee, Dr. Mark Boyta (Groove of Hope) and AK Scherrer (Grove of Hope) was participated in the event. The scientists interacted with the students and also conduct seminars and workshops for them, school teachers, and also interested public. The highlight of the festival was the display of live working models of NASA, ISRO, DRDO, and other scientific organisations. |
