Benefits of Indian Forest Service
What are benefits to join the Indian Forest Service? Tell me about the advantage and disadvantage of this job. My father wants to apply for the Indian Forest Service. I don’t have the idea about this job. I am interested to knowing the benefits of this job.

In the view of government IFS officer is same like other All India Service officers. Indian forest service job is beneficial according to their salary and perks. You will have same salary, perks, and benefits like them only. IFS means Forest service but that does not mean you have to stay through out your life in forests only. In IFS you may be posted in different places on the basis of your cadre. If u become DFO you will head a division which a town. This DFO post you will get after 5-6 years of your joining. And the above cadres you obviously stay very close to cities only. Salary detail in IFS: Junior Time Scale: 15,600 – 39,100 with Grade Pay of 5,400 Senior Time Scale: 15,600 – 39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 6,600 Junior Administrative Grade 15,600 – 39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 7,600 Deputy Conservator of Forest (Selection Grade) 37,400 – 67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 8,700 Conservator of Forests 37,400 – 67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 8,900 Chief Conservator of Forests 37,400 – 67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000 Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests 67,000 – 79,000 Principal Chief Conservator of Forests 75,000 – 80,000 Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Chief of Forestry Department of a state) Fixed Pay Scale: 80,000 |
