sir right now I am studying msc in Banglore university and I want to know that is there any changes taken place in biochemistry department or not ?? if yes than please tell what are those changes??? Is it related with faculty or something else????

The Department of Biochemistry was established as an independent department after bifurcation of the Department of Chemistry in August, 2008 at Bangalore University.

The main emphasis of the Department of Biochemistry is post graduate teaching complemented by research. The Department offers M.Sc., and Ph.D., Degree in Biochemistry.

1. M. Sc. in Bio-Chemistry

2. Ph. D. with course work

B. Nature of Course -1. Semester Scheme

C. Duration - 1. 4 Semesters (2 years)

2. As per prevailing University regulations

E. Eligibility :

1. Candidate must have secured 40% in aggregate and studied Chemistry or Bio - Chemistry as one of the cognate subjects securing 50% marks at B.Sc level and studied Biology at PUC or 10 + 2 level.

2. Candidate with minimum 55% in M.Sc. degree (Biochemistry) from any University recognized by UGC is eligible.

A relaxation of 5% is allowed for SC/ST , Category-I, candidates.
