School Education Department of Government of Andhra Pradesh Conducts Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET). APTET Eligibility Criteria : For 1st to 5th Classes (Paper-I): Candidates should have passed senior secondary/12th or its equivalent with minimum 45% marks or pursuing final year of 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR Applicants should have passed in Intermediate /12th or equivalent with at least 50% marks or pursuing final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.E l. Ed.) OR Passed 12th /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks or pursuing final year of 2 – year Diploma in Education (Special Education). For 6th to 8th Classes (paper II): Applicants should have passed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com or pursuing final year of 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR Candidates must have completed B.A. /B.Sc./B.Com pass with at least 45% marks or pursuing 1 – year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed) Course. OR Aspirants should possessed B.A. / B.Sc./B.Com pass with minimum 50% marks or pursuing 1- year B.Ed. (Special Education)* Course. OR Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and pass in or pursuing final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. E l. Ed.) course. OR Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and pass in or pursuing final year of 4-year B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed Course. Application Fees : 250 Rs. For Candidates . APTET Exam Pattern : All questions in APTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. The Written test Comprises of Paper-I and Paper-II. 1. Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. 2. Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII. 3. A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and Classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II). Paper-I: It consists of 150 Multiple Choice Questions & each question carries one mark and the time duration is 2 ½ hours.
