Re: Age Limit for Appearing in UGC NET

The National Eligibility test (NET) is conducted every year by the University Grants Commission (UGC) every year.

This is an exam which is conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility of the candidates for lectureship in various universities or for awarding the fellowship programs on a whole. An exam is conducted by the CSIR for certain science subjects in particular.

Eligibility Criteria:

Academic Qualification:

The minimum eligibility qualification requires the candidates to secure a post graduation degree in the specific subject area from any recognized university or college. The candidates need secure around 55% of aggregate marks during the course of study.

Age Limit:
The age limit is around 35 years and reservations are available for selected categories.

Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern of the UGC –NET exam is as follows-

-General Knowledge
-Current Affairs
-Reasoning Ability
-Quantitative Methods
-Subject Area


The exam will be mainly the objective type test.
