IIT’s are the well-known institutions for education in the field of engineering and now emerging in the field of management education. IIT’s have dropped the JMET exam which it used to conduct for the admission process to its management programs and now it considers CAT scores for the admission to the management programmes which is conducted by IIM’s. Apart from CAT, other recognized entrance exams for management education are XAT by the XLRI School of Business and Human Resources, Jamshedpur MAT (management aptitude test) by the All India Management Association; NMAT conducted by the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai; Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad Admission Test; Symbiosis National Aptitude Test Graduate Management Admission Test Management Schools of IIT’s: IITB - Shailesh J Mehta School of Management (Master of Management -M.Mgt.) Re: Admission for MBA at IITs
IITs now short list candidates according to the CAT score which is conducted by IIM’s. The 6 institute (IITs) run 2 year, full-time postgraduate management programmes with an intake of about 600 students. The IIMs take in fewer than 3,000 students every year, but charge a substantially higher fee than the IITs. Apart from CAT, other well-known entrance exams for management education are XAT by the XLRI School of Business and Human Resources, Jamshedpur, MAT (management aptitude test) run by the All India Management Association; NMAT conducted by the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai; Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad Admission Test; Symbiosis National Aptitude Test and the Graduate Management Admission Test Management programmes in IITs IITB - Shailesh J Mehta School of Management (Master of Management -M.Mgt.) IITD - Department of Management Studies (Programmes Master of Business Administration (MBA) with focus on Management Systems, Master of Business Administration (MBA) with focus on Telecommunication Systems Management) IITK - Department of Industrial & Management Engineering (Master of Business Administration MBA) IITKgp - Vinod Gupta School of Management (Master of Business Administration MBA) IITM - Department of Management Studies (Master of Business Administration MBA) IITR - Department of Management Studies (Master of Business Administration MBA) Selection Procedure: Candidate need to apply separately to each of the IITs. Then according to the performance in the entrance tests they will be short listed. Then they will be called for GD/ WAT and PI. |
