There are the fifteen Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian School of Mines and IIT BHU. It is organized each year by one of the IITs. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are a group of self-governing public engineering and management colleges in India.

Admission in IITs for M Tech

Minimum Requirements for M. Tech Admission:

Applicants with:

Good GATE score
Bachelor degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture from educational Institutions approved by AICTE/Government or

Master degree in Chemistry / Life Science / Mathematics / Physics / related subjects from UGC/ Government approved Colleges or

Above mentioned Degrees obtained through Distance Education/Correspondence Mode. There is a test/interview for screening in such cases.

Candidates who are in the final exam for the qualifying degree mentioned above and whose results are likely to be declared, or
Associate Membership holders of the professional bodies for admission into their parent disciplines from the following:

The Institution of Engineers (India) (AMIE)
The Aeronautical Society of India (AMAeSI) (eligible only for aerodynamics, structures and propulsions streams)
The Indian Institute of Metals (AMIM)
The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, including Polymer and Environmental Group (AMIIChemE)
The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (AMIETE)

General Flow of M. Tech Admission Process:
1. First and foremost appear for GATE
2. One needs to keep track announced made by various colleges offering M. Tech program as there is no centralized admission process.
3. Fill up the application form online or offline before the deadline.
4. After the results are declared and if you clear the exam, confirm your admission by paying up the tuition fee.
5. The successful candidates are called for an interview after which list of selected candidates for M. Tech program is declared.
