National Eligibility Test Information

I am interested in teaching line and for this I have decided to give the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) Exam want all information of this exam. Can you tell me what eligibility and qualification required to apply for this exam and also provides important dates for UGC NET?

National Eligibility Test (NET) is the national level entrance examination conducted by UGC for postgraduate candidates.

NET is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in various Indian universities and colleges.

Eligibility:

Candidates who have completed or perusing a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (General) and 50%(ST,SC) are eligible to apply for it.

Age Limit

For Junior Research Fellowship-
Candidate’s age should not be more than 28 years.
Age relaxation is applicable as per govt. rule.
For Lecturer-ship-
There is no limitation in age.

Application Fee

If you belong to general category then you need to pay Rs. 600.
If you belong to OBC Category then you need to pay Rs. 300.
If you belong to SC, SC category then you need to pay Rs. 150.

Important Dates for UGC NET June 2016 (Tentative)

Application process will be start from- April 2016
Last Date to apply for UGC NET June 2016 – May 2016
Date of the UG NET Examination – June 2016
Date of availability of the admission card – First week of June 2016.
