The Jawaharlal Nehru University is admitted candidates for MA History. Candidates may also get syllabus for MA in History from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Candidates applying for M.A. (History) programme are allowed to exercise only one option i.e., Ancient History; or Medieval History; or Modern Indian History. Get download syllabus for MA in history from Jawaharlal Nehru University: Candidates seeking admission to the M.A. programme in the Centre for Historical Studies will be required to have a broad knowledge of history either directly on the basis of courses taken at under-graduate level in History or indirectly through the historical understanding of discipline in the Social Sciences or Humanities. Paper pattern: The CHS has changed the pattern of its MA entrance examination. The question paper worth a total of 100 marks is divided into three sections. Students are required to answer questions from all sections. Section 1 will carry 30 marks. It has one comprehension passage in English and candidates are required to answer six questions based on the given passage. Section 2 carries 20 marks. It has 5 questions covering broad areas of the social sciences and other topical issues of current concern. Candidates are required to answer 1 question from this section. Section 3 carries 50 marks. It has 12 questions covering specific periods/areas of history and candidates are required to attempt 2 questions from this section. MA in History syllabus: Sem. I History of India up to 300 B.C. Twentieth Century world (up to the end of world War II) History of the Marathas (A.D. 1600 A.D. 1707) or History of Republican China Nineteenth Century India or Women in Indian History Sem. II State, Society and culture of India (B.C.300A.D. 500) Polity in Medieval India History of the Marathas (A.D. 1707 A.D. 1818) or World after World War II Nineteenth Century Maharashtra or Dalit Movement under Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar (A.D. 1920 A.D. 1956) |
