To become an IAS(Indian Administrative Services) officer one has to fulfill the following eligibility conditions. Eligibility Criteria: Interested aspirants must have any graduate degree from any recognized University. Candidate who are in the final year are also eligible. Candidate’s age should be between 21 and 30 years. IAS Exams are conducted in three following phases. Phase I:Civil Services Aptitude Test Phase II:Civil Services Mains Phase III: Personality test (Interview) List of optional subjects for IAS Main Examination are given below: Political Science and International Relations Economics Electrical Engineering Geography Geology Agriculture Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science Anthropology Chemistry Civil Engineering Commerce and Accountancy History Law Management Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Botany Medical Science Philosophy Physics Statistics Zoology Psychology Pubic Administration Sociology Literature from one of the following languages: Assamese, Sanskrit, Santhali Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, , Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and English. |

IAS is the abbreviated form of the Indian Administrative Services .To become an IAS officer one must fulfill the following eligibility conditions. Eligibility Criteria: Interested aspirants must have any graduate degree from any recognized University. Students who are in the final year are also eligible. Candidate’s age should be between 21 and 30 years. General category applicants will have six attempts The age-limit for a general applicants has been increased to 32 years from the existing 30. For an SC/ST applicants, the number of attempts is unlimited and the age limit has been raised to 35 years. Physically challenged applicants in the general and OBC categories will now be eligible for nine attempts as against the seven. The revised age-limit will be 42 years for general and 45 years for OBC applicants There is no limit on the number of attempts for physically handicapped applicants in the SC/ST categories, while there will be an age limit of 47 years for them as against the present 45 years.
