Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to MBA program in various institutes all over India including the IIMs.

Eligibility:
The applicant should be a graduate with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Important dates
Sale of vouchers Aug 05 - Sep 24, 2013
Registrations Aug 05 - Sep 26, 2013
Exam dates Oct 16 - Nov 11, 2013
Results Jan 14, 2014

This exam covers following topics:
CAT English/Verbal Ability: Reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, syllogisms, analogies, antonyms and synonyms, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, idioms, etc.

CAT Maths/Quant Ability: Number systems, geometry, trogonometry, probability, permutation combination, algebra, mensuration, time and work, averages, percentages, profit and loss, quadratic and linear equations, etc.

CAT Data Interpretation: Interpretation and analysis of data based on text, tables, graphs (line, area), charts (column, bar, pie), venn diagram, etc.

CAT Logical Reasoning: Clocks, calendars, binary logic, seating arrangement, blood relations, logical sequence, assumption, premise, conclusion, linear and matrix arrangement, etc.

Common Admission Test (CAT) is an Entrance Exam which is conducted by Indian Institutes of Management for admission in different management program and other prestige college of MBA in India.

This entrance test is compulsory for the admissions.

Eligibility:
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD)/Differently Able (DA) category) awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Applicants appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.





Age limit
There is no age limit for the CAT entrance exam

CAT exam syllabus:

VA (Verbal Ability): Reading Comprehension, Paragraph Arrangement, Inference Deduction, Vocabulary, Fill in the blanks and Verbal Reasoning.

DI (Data Interpretation): Bar, Pie and Line Charts type questions, and questions related to Data Sufficiency.

QA (Quantitative Ability): Question based on Geometry, Number System, Time and Money, Distance Speed, Chain Rule, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Mixtures and Alligation, Compound and Simple Interest, Pipes and Cistern etc. , Algebra and Geometrical Sections such as Circles, Triangles, Mensuration etc.

LR (Logical & Analytical Reasoning): Blood Relation, Puzzles, Arguments, Statements and assumptions, Coding and Decoding, Pattern, and Syllogisms etc.
