PGT (Post Graduate Teachers)

PGT exam is conducted by different states and also the exam is conducted in the national level. All the students who are interested in teaching students from I to XIII have to appear for this exam.

This exam is separated in three category:

1.From I to v

2. From VI to VIII

3.From IX to XII

The exam is conducted in national level by the:

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti

Eligibility for the PGT exam:

Educational qualification:

Candidates must be completed 2 year integrated PG M.Sc. Course from Regional College of Education of NCERT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.

OR
Candidates must be passed master’s Degree from any recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Candidates must be able to teach in both English and Hindi

Candidates must be completed Bed or its equivalent from any recognized college

Age limit: not more then 40years.

For SC/ST the upper age limit is extended to 5 years
For OBC the upper age limit is extended to 3 years .

Hey as PGT stands for the Post graduate Teachers.

Qualification

You should have completed 2 year integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. Course from Regional College of Education of NCERT with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
OR
You must have passed master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in any of the subjects mentioned below

You should have completed your Bed or its equivalent from a recognized college

You must be able to teach in both English and Hindi

Age limit

You should not be more then 40 years to apply for the exam.

Age relaxation

Relaxation is given to reserved caste students

For SC/ST the upper age limit is extended to 5 years

For OBC the upper age limit is extended to 3 years .

The PGT teacher is eligible to teach the High secondatry classes mainly the 11th and 12th in the following subjects:

English

Maths

physics

Chemistry

Biology

Computer science

Economics

Accounts

Business studies
