Recently, a newspaper article mourned the total disappearance of the common house sparrow. This was a comment on the city‟s perceptible move towards edging out the flora and fauna of the city. In the rapid urbanization, multi-storied apartments grew and large scale felling
of trees became necessary. Last week, however, seven pairs of these sparrows were spotted in a suburb. Possibly the greenery of this place has created a new habitat for these birds which like their proximity to human beings, and have made a comeback.
