Vikram University, a public university in Ujjain, has been christened after King Vikramaditya, a great legendary ruler. Constituted in 1956, it is a state university and a member of the affiliation of Indian Universities, AIU. It has been accepted by the University Grant Commission, UGC, and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) have awarded ‘A’ Grade to the university. Jurisdiction of the University extends over the districts of Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Shajapur and Dewas. It has more than 80 attached colleges and two component colleges spread over these districts.
