Work of Group D Staff in Railways

What is the work of group D staff in Railways, please provide here in detail???

Group D is the lowest rung of employment in Government including Railways.

It is for assisting the skilled servants like giving the tools/equipment during maintenance/troubleshooting or menial jobs like cleaning, etc.

A Group D staffs has to merely carry out the instructions given to him without very much applying his mind or discretion.

Job description of the Group 'D' posts so upgraded and placed in Group 'C' shall be revised and re-defined with emphasis on multi skillinq so that a single employee is able to perform various jobs.
