Re: What deference between CDS IMA and OTA in CDS exam reference
C.D.S or Combined Defence Service Examination conducted twice in a year by Union Public Service Commission and after clear this exam you can go in: Military Academy Navy Academy Air force Academy Officer Training Academy As you are looking here for answer related to deference between IMA and OTA so I want to say that there is no deference between IMA and OTA bcoz both are the training institutes Indian Military Academy(IMA) and Officer Training Academy(OTA) of the Indian Army training and in both of the institutes new officers of Indian army are trained and as you asked here for better option between then you according to me your first choice should be IMA because you will get the permanent commission through IMA. Eligibility for write CDS exam : You should be the citizen of India. You should be the graduate form a recognized university For OTA should you have the age limit within 19-24 years For OTA can be either married or unmarried. For IMA You should have the age limit within 19-23 years IMA You should be unmarried. You should be physically fit |

Re: What deference between CDS IMA and OTA in CDS exam reference
Here I am providing the difference between Combined Defence Service IMA and OTA Examination which you are looking for . • The OTA is a training establishment of the Indian Army that trains officers for the Short Service Commission. The IMA, Dehradun is the officer training Academy of the Indian Army that trains officers for the Permanent Commission. • OTA is where ladies and gentlemen both are trained into officers but in IMA only gentlemen can be inducted. • There are two OTA’s one in Chennai and other one in Gaya ,there is only one IMA which is in Dehradun. • If you are willing to join Indian Army through CDSE then the candidates who are willing t go for IMA have to appear for Mathematics exam. for OTA do not have to appear for the paper of Mathematics • If you are applying for the IMA then you need to be 19 to 24 years of age while for OTA 19 to 25 years of age is required. • Thus for OTA you have to appear for English and GK in CDSE but for IMA you have to appear for English, GK and Mathematics in CDSE. • OTA is for only 14 years and not for life term service (in some cases the service is extensible to Permanent Commission). IMA provide you opportunity to join army and serve for 30 years maximum. • Also the cutoff marks for IMA is generally higher than that for OTA in CDSE. |
