West Bengal Civil Services (WBCS) Exams are conducted for job admissions in a wide number of Administrative Services under Government of West Bengal. There is two require educational criteria for WBCS Exams: Candidate should be a graduate from recognized college or University One should be able to read, write and speak Bengali. Candidate's age should be 21-32 year for Group A,C and D and for Group B age should 20-32 year. Number of attempt allowed for WBCS Exam: General category: Four Attempt Other Backward category: Seven Attempt SC/ST: No Restriction for Number of attempt Selection process: Preliminary exam (objective type) Main exam (Subjective type) Interview Scheme of the Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination consists of only 1 paper of General Studies. The paper will be of an objective type consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions. The paper will carry 200 marks and will be of 2½ hours duration. The standard of the paper will be of the level of knowledge as expected of a graduate of any faculty of a recognized University. Scheme of the Main Examination: The Main Examination consist of 5 Compulsory papers and two optional subjects (one optional subject for candidates applying only for group C and / or D) to be chosen by the candidates. If a candidate offers two optional subjects and intends to compete for only Group – ‘C’ and/or ‘D’. There will be two papers on each optional subject. WBCS 2014 Scheme & Syllabus |
