Can you tell me in detail about the Master of Science Program offered by Department of Computer Science and Technology of University of Peloponnese?

Starting from the academic year 2009-2010 the Department of Computer Science and Technology of University of Peloponnese operates and organizes a program of postgraduate studies leading to a Master of Science degree (M Sc) in the field of Computer Science.

Requirements for acquiring the Masters Degree

One should:
1. Fulfil the fundamental knowledge requirement as defined in the regulations of postgraduate studies (defined on a per-student basis by the Departments assembly.
2. Accumulate at least 30 ECTS units per semester.
3. Successfully take the examinations in the required classes.
4. Undertake and complete a Master thesis in the chosen area.

Admission Criteria and Deadline for Applications

Graduate of Departments of Faculties of Science and Polytechnic Schools which are domestic or are foreign but is recognized as equivalent and graduates of Departments of Faculties of Technological Applications can be accepted in the MSc program.

The maximum number of entrants is determined each year in the announcement of the program based on the needs of the Department but it cannot exceed 40. Depending on the qualifications of the applicants, it is not necessary that all positions are filled.

The selection is made by the Special General Assembly of the Department after the recommendation of the Graduate Student Selection Committee taking into account all data that will result from the submitted documents of each applicant.

Duration of Studies
The minimum duration of the M Sc program is 3 semesters. During the first two semesters the postgraduate student takes courses and in 3rd semester one carries out the Master thesis. In exceptional cases the maximum duration may reach 5 semesters.
