he Department of Crystallography and Biophysics was established in 1952 with Prof. G.N. Ramachandran, F.R.S. as the Head. His virtuoso guided the Department in its initial years and prompted a few to spearheading disclosures.

The Department leads a two year M.Sc. (Biophysics) course other than the Ph.D. program.
