Sir my sister is preparing for IBPS PO Examination-2015. She wants to know how does IBPS calculate TWSS (Weighted Standard Score) Process for arriving at Standard scores in the CWE for PO/MT's? Please provide me information about this?

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts online exams for Probationary Officer (PO), Management Trainee, Specialist Officer, RRB Officer and Clerk posts for the recruitment in various Participating banks.

About TWSS In IBPS PO

TWSS scores are calculated by linear transformation method taking mean score = 25 and standard deviation = 5.

Still many candidates unable to understand this formula. Find below TWSS explanation with an example.

1) Actual corrected score: Number of questions you attempted correctly minus negative marking (0.25 marks for question).

2) Equated score: Scores of candidates of every slot and paper set is equated according to difficulty level of the test. Difficulty level of the test is decided by marks scored by all the candidates in a particular question paper.

3) Final standardized score: As announced by IBPS in their official website that they use Linear transformation method by taking mean = 25 and standard deviation = 5, to calculate TWSS of candidates.

Exams for different cadres

CWE PO/MT: for the position of Probationary Officer or Management Trainee.
CWE Clerk: for Clerical positions.
Specialist Officer: for specialist officer positions.
RRB officer: for the selection of officers & office assistants to Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) governed by NABARD.
