You want syllabus of BA Psychology 2nd year offer by Punjabi University so here I am giving you the same:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PAPER-SETTER
The question paper will consist of Five sections: A, B, C, D and E. Sections A, B, C, and D will have two questions in each, out of which one question has to be attempted. Each question will carry 10 marks. Section E will consist of 15 short answer type questions which will cover the entire syllabus uniformly and will carry 30 marks in all. Each short answer type question carrying 2 marks. The candidates are required to answer each short type question in 50 words, i.e., in 5 lines.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
Candidates are required to attempt one question each from the sections A, B, C and D of the question paper and the entire section E. Candidates are required to answer each short type question in 50 words, i.e., in 5 lines.

SECTION-A
Nature & Scope of Experimental Psychology: Nature & Types of Variables: Qualitative Variables, Quantitative Variables and Control of Extraneous Variables.

SECTION-B
Memory: Sensory, Short Term and Long Term Memory; Levels of Processing and Encoding; Measures of Memory; Nature & Causes of Forgetting.

SECTION-C
Learning: Trial & Error, Gestalt Approach.
Classical Conditioning, Instrumental Conditioning.

THEORY PAPER-A: GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY-A
SECTION A
Introduction to Psychology: Nature, Scope, Branches, Historical Background of Psychology, Methods of Psychology (Observation, Case Study, Experimental Method, Survey).
SECTION B
Growth and Development: Concept, Characteristics of Development, Difference between growth and development. Role of heredity and environment.

SECTION C
Personality: Nature, Determinants, Theories-Freud, Allport, Cattell. Assessment of Personality. Personality Development.
SECTION D
Statistics: Measures of Central Tendency (Arithmetic Mean, Median, Mode) and Variability (Range, Average Deviation, Quartile Deviation, Standard Deviation). Graphical Representation of Data.

Note: Use of Non-Programmable Calculators and Statistical Tables allowed.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
Students are supposed to perform ten practicals out of 12 mentioned in the syllabus. Practical examination will be of 4 hours duration. External examiner will conduct the practical examination. The students will perform 2 practical in the exam carrying 40 marks. The examiner will evaluate the practical on the basis of write-up of file book (10 Marks), performance and viva-voce (30 Marks) relating to the practicals given.
In case students have not done 10 practicals out of the total 12 mentioned in the syllabus, the examiner will deduct marks (at the rate of 4 for each left practical) out of total evaluation of the student. Examiner will certify that either marks have been deducted for left out practicals out of the total evaluation or that students have done all the practicals. This certificate will be submitted along with the marks list to the University.
No reappear will be allowed in the practical examination. Fail in the practical will be considered fail overall in the subject.
For practical examination, one group of students will not comprise of more than 20 students at a time.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
Practical examination will be of 40 marks and of four hours duration. Practical examination will be held by one external examiner.
If students have not completed 10 practicals out of the total of 12 mentioned in the syllabus, the external examiner will deduct marks (at the rate of 4 marks for each practical) out of the marks given to the students in the practical examination.
External examiner will certify that either all the practicals have been deducted from the evaluation. This certificate is to be sent with the award list.

Ten Practicals have to be performed out of the following:

2. Public Opinion Survey
3. Sentence Completion Test
4. Sociometry
5. Reaction Time
6. Scale measuring Development/ Developmental delay
7. Verbal Test of Intelligence
8. Non-Verbal Test of Intelligence
9. Performance Test of Intelligence
10. Facial Expressions in Emotions
11. Level of Aspiration
12. Measurement of Motivation
