Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry or JIPMER was established in 1956. The JIPMER 2016 MBBS entrance exam is organized for the admission to approx 150 MBBS seats in the JIPMER Institution based in Pondicherry.

Online registration ends: 4th May, 2016

Required Eligibility Criteria

One should have completed 17 years of their age as on or before the 31st December of exam year.

One should have qualified the 10+2/Senior Secondary or its correspondent exam from a recognized board or university with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as major subjects.

One should have scored minimum 50% marks in the qualifying exam (40% for reserved category such as ST/SC/OBC/PH).

One who is pursuing in last year of qualifying exam or waiting for the results can also apply.

Total number of Seats offered in JIPMER MBBS

The allocation of the seats will be prepared as per the following criteria:

Candidates from Pondicherry state:

Total (40 seats);
General – 23 seats,
SC – 6 seats,
OBC – 11 seats

Candidates from other state:

Total (105 seats); General – 50 seats,
SC – 16 seats,
OBC – 28 seats,
ST – 11 seats

Remaining five seats will be reserved for the OCI/ BRI (under self-financing scheme) applicants.
